Choral and Vocal Studies

With nearly 200 participants and 6 vocal ensembles, the School of Creative and Performing Arts at Northwestern State University offers a comprehensive graded choral and vocal program that prepares the music major for the rigorous demands of the professional academic and performing worlds. Highly qualified and experienced voice faculty provide one-on-one instruction for majors in Music Education, Vocal Performance, Music Business, Sacred Music, Musical Theatre, and to those non-majors who qualify through the selective audition process. Opera Theater gives serious vocalists opportunity to hone their abilities on the stage as well as to gain deeper knowledge of the repertoire.
